中文(简体)— Chinese, Simplified
Preliminary report · last updated 18 July 2026
What works today
- Simplified Chinese dictation runs fully on-device through the SenseVoice engine, with native punctuation — no cloud, same privacy promise as English.
- Mixed Chinese-and-English dictation in one breath is supported — the engine auto-detects both.
- Traditional Chinese (Taiwan / Hong Kong standards) and Cantonese are separate modes with their own character standards.
Early accuracy signal
In controlled smoke tests on studio-quality synthetic Mandarin, character accuracy
measured 100%, with AI formatting producing content-identical output. This is an
encouraging early signal, not the finished benchmark: the full report scores real
native-speaker recordings across accents and speeds, verified by native reviewers.
Scoring rules for this report
- Simplified output is scored against Simplified-native reference text only — never converted from Traditional sources (conversion hides real errors).
- Accuracy is measured per character; formatting is scored separately (punctuation, numbers, mixed-language passages).
- Comparisons with other dictation apps replay the same audio through each app's real pipeline.
